BACKGROUND:

Resolution 25-065 authorized the Administration to negotiate an agreement with MBR Construction, Inc. pursuant to RFQ 2025-010 - Design/Build for Centennial Park Redevelopment.  MBR Construction has a proven track record with the City of Margate and has successfully completed several park improvement projects in the past few years.

After several negotiation sessions, Staff is presenting for consideration a negotiated agreement for a Centennial Park project scope that includes necessary demolition work, parking lot enhancements, playground improvements, sport court improvements, site amenities, site furnishings, hardscape, landscape, lighting, and irrigation.

The negotiated agreement totals $2,348,533.00.  In addition to that amount, Commission approval to expend up to an additional $100,000 at the Administration’s discretion for minor project scope amendments should the need arise is recommended and requested.

RECOMMENDATION:                     Approve the negotiated Design/Build agreement

FISCAL IMPACT:                     $2,348,533.00 Total Project - Plus Commission approval of an additional $100,000.00 for potential administratively approved project scope adjustments should the need arise.  Use of the project scope amendment funds, if utilized at all, will be addressed by means of an administratively issued change order and will not be included in the design/build agreement.
