Body

BACKGROUND:                     The City prepared and released Bid No. 2025-001 - Winfield Boulevard Canal Crossing Water Main Improvements.  Three bids were received in response to the request for bids.

Contractor responsibilities for this proposed DEES project will include installation of various sized water main piping by means of both open cut and directional drill methods, installation of sleeves, valves, and fittings as per plans and specifications, milling and paving, pavement markings, and various other ancillary restoration services necessary to complete the project.

The City’s engineering consultant, Chen-Moore and Associates reviewed the bids received and based on submitted bid pricing and prior highly satisfactory past performance by Pabon Engineering, Inc. on similar City projects, recommends award to that firm.  Staff concurs with the consultant’s findings and recommends award to Pabon Engineering, Inc. as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

RECOMMENDATION:                     Award to Pabon Engineering, Inc. as recommended by staff

FISCAL IMPACT:                     Not to exceed $450,000

                     Account No. 461-6004-536.65-81
