BACKGROUND:
Staff advertised Request for Proposals (RFP) 2024-006 seeking professional sign contractors to prequalify as contractors for sign contracting services as needed by the City. Two responses were received. Staff reviewed the submittals and ranked the firms; determining both firms to be responsive and qualified. Gardner Signs, LLC d/b/a Ferrin Signs received 438 evaluation points and i2 Visual Inc. received 420 evaluation points.

The RFP provided general sign specifications and representations for the common sign projects anticipated. However, Staff recognizes that aesthetic updates will be required for all sign designs prior to final approval of specific projects. Additionally, Staff would like to utilize the two prequalified contractors to provide competitive pricing for needed signs and related services that were not specifically referenced in the RFP document. Anticipated additional needs include, but are not limited to banners, historical markers, wraps, graphics, scoreboards, digital displays, flags and flag poles, etc. In all cases, the Administration would seek competitive pricing from the two prequalified contractors and award projects in the best interests of the City.
