Title

APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX A ZONING, AMENDING ARTICLE III GENERAL PROVISIONS; SECTION 3.23.3; AMENDING ARTICLE V ZONING DISTRICTS; SECTION 5.1, AMENDING ARTICLE XII COMMUNITY FACILITY CF-2 DISTRICT PROVIDING FOR NEW CONSERVATION (CON) DISTRICT; AMENDING ARTICLE XIII PROVIDING FOR NEW UTILITIES (U-1) DISTRICT; AMENDING ARTICLE XXVIII OPEN SPACE S-2 DISTRICT, SECTIONS 28.2 AND 28.3.

Body

BACKGROUND:

In October 2016, the Economic Development Department began identifying errors and inconsistencies between the City Future Land Use Map (FLUM) and the corresponding Zoning Map with an overall goal of creating compliance and consistency between the two documents. There are two zoning districts that were identified on the FLUM that are not on the corresponding Zoning Code Map which are the Conservation (CON) and Utilities (U-1) Districts. As such, the first phase of this project will be adding these zoning districts to the code of ordinances and the zoning map. Moreover, the Open Space S-2 district is to be updated. Several other sections of the code referencing the uses within the U-1, CON, and S-2 districts are to be updated.
