Title

RECOGNIZING THOMAS RUZZANO, JR., FOR HIS HEROIC ACTS OF ASSISTING STRANDED DRIVERS DURING THE FLASH FLOODS THAT OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 26, 2025

Body

BACKGROUND: On the evening of Sunday, October 26, what started as South Florida thunderstorms turned into flash flooding across parts of northern Broward and southern Palm Beach counties. Thomas Ruzzano, Jr., was at Mizner Park in Boca Raton when the flooding escalated to the point where it was overtaking roads, homes, and businesses.

Thomas responded by checking on the safety of at least a half-dozen drivers whose vehicles were inundated in the floodwaters. One driver who was stuck in his car due to the flooding insisted he just needed his car pushed out of the water. However, Thomas knew he needed to escort the elderly gentleman to safety and took him to a nearby restaurant to make sure he was safe and alright.
