A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, APPROVING MULTIPLE AWARD OF BID NO. 2026-005 - SUPPLY AND DELIVER AFTERMARKET VEHICLE PARTS AND ACCESSORIES - AUTOMOTIVE, LIGHT - HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS, AND OFF ROAD VEHICLES TO AUTONATION FORD MARGATE, PARTS AUTHORITY, LLC, O'REILLY AUTOMOTIVE STORES, INC., D/B/A O'REILLY AUTO PARTS AND TPH HOLDINGS, LLC D/B/A THE PARTS HOUSE; PROVIDING FOR WAIVING OF BIDDING AND AWARD OF LOCAL SOLE SOURCE SUPPLIERS OF O.E.M. FORD, CHEVROLET AND CHRYSLER/DODGE PARTS AS PER THE ATTACHED PRICING LETTERS.

BACKGROUND:
The City advertised for suppliers of aftermarket vehicle parts and accessories to respond to Bid No. 2026-005. Bid submissions were received from four providers. All submissions were reviewed by Staff and considered responsive.
Since several suppliers of aftermarket vehicle parts and accessories service the Margate vicinity, pricing varies and product availability varies from supplier to supplier. Therefore, Staff recommends a multiple award of the bid to all four firms that submitted discount pricing schedules in accordance with the bid requirements. Awarding all four bidders will allow for orders to be placed with the specific supplier offering the most advantageous pricing, quality, and availability of needed items at any specific time of need.
While aftermarket vehicle parts and accessories for City needs are utilized whenever feasible, occasions do arise when acquiring only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and/or accessories is sufficient for the circumstances. In keeping with that OEM need, Staff requests that Margate's closest local area Ford, Chevrolet, and Chrysler/Dodge dealerships be declared sole source providers and that waiving of bidding be approved for orders placed with those OEM parts and accessories providers.
