BACKGROUND: In July 2021 the MCRA engaged the services of Chen Moore & Associates, Inc. (CMA) to provide professional civil engineering, planning and landscape architecture services for the design, permitting, and construction administration needed for the Margate Boulevard Crosswalk and Landscape Improvements project.

The project scope includes the sidewalk and crosswalk reconstruction to conform to ADA standards, landscaping improvements including irrigation and energy efficient lighting, improvements of existing stormwater drainage conflict within project limits, and road resurfacing. The project is confined to the right-of way along Margate Boulevard from US 441 to East Rive Drive and N.W. 58th Avenue from Park drive to approximately one-half (1/2) block northeast of Margate Boulevard.

In May 2025 the Board approved an agreement with FG Construction LLC in the amount of $1,048,700.31. Construction started on August 14, 2025 and had a total duration of 240 calendar days, with a final completion date of April 11, 2026.

Change Order No. 1 addresses driveway settlement and concrete header cracks at the northern entrance of Margate Gardens along NW 58th Avenue and includes the restoration of the entire paver driveway, header curb and valley gutter in the amount of $12,731.17.
