RESOLUTION - APPROVING WAIVING OF BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) WRAPAROUND SHADE CANOPIES FROM SHADE STRUCTURES, INC. TO CONNECT TO OUR EXISTING SHADE STRUCTURES, INC. CANOPIES AT A PRICE NOT TO EXCEED $144,046.

BACKGROUND:                                          This purchase will allow for the shade canopies to wrap around the three (3) backstops at the Margate Sports Complex, and connect to the existing shade canopies covering the bleachers. This wraparound shade design will enhance our park and allow for 100% shade coverage in the spectator area of each field, and by utilizing this vendor they can make a connection to the existing shade structures and maintain the twenty-year warranty on the structures, and ten-year warranty on the fabrics.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     To Approve

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                                          The purchase will be funded through the General Fund-fund balance assigned for Capital Improvement Projects-Parks and Recreation.  The budget increase of $150,000 (includes permit fees) and transfer to the Capital Projects Fund will be approved with the FY 2017 budget amendment that will occur in November.
