A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, AWARDING RFP 2023-012 - PREQUALIFICATION FOR GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, RENOVATION, AND REPAIR SERVICES TO THE FIRMS OF RPM GENERAL CONTRACTORS, INC., AND HRT CONSTRUCTION GROUP LLC; PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MATERIALS MARKUP AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES LABOR RATE SCHEDULES; PROVIDING FOR FUTURE ADMINISTRATIVELY AWARDED CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION PROJECTS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE

BACKGROUND:
Staff anticipated the need to establish agreements with qualified general contracting firms to provide general construction, renovation, and repair services, which include but are not limited to new construction and installations, existing building renovations and repairs, or emergency services calls for repairs on an as-needed basis. Evaluation criteria for an RFP was established, and the City advertised RFP 2023-012 for the purpose of prequalifying interested firms to provide such services.

Two firms submitted responses to the RFP and were ranked as follows:

Staff recommends awarding prequalified general contractor agreements to both firms based on the materials markup and labor rate schedules submitted by those firms in response to the RFP. Requirements for future work will be presented by staff to one or both firms for specific project proposals based on the materials markup and labor rate schedules. Submitted proposals for specific projects will then be reviewed by staff and awarded in accordance with what is deemed to be in the best interests of the City for the project.

RECOMMENDATION: Award agreements to both firms
