Title

AUTHORIZING A FIFTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND M & M LAWN CARE, LLC FOR THE INCLUSION OF ADDITIONAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES

Body

BACKGROUND:                     The MCRA has an existing agreement with M & M Lawn Care to handle the maintenance of MCRA-owned bus shelters as well as to provide landscaping at several MCRA owned properties, specifically: 891 North State Road 7; 6030 NW 9th Street; and the Covered Sports Field property on Banks Road.

The MCRA recently acquired four additional properties for which landscaping services are needed on a temporary basis until the structures on the properties are demolished. Once demolition is completed, the MCRA will then reassess its landscaping needs and obtain proposals for full contracted annual landscape maintenance of each property.

MCRA Property Manager, Jim Nardi, obtained quotes from Landscape Service Professionals (LSP) and

M & M Lawn Care, and his recommendation is to move forward with M & M Lawn Care for the stopgap services needed based on better pricing.

The MCRA recommends entering into a Fifth Amendment with M & M Lawn Care to provide “as needed” basic landscape services, effective immediately and until demolition is completed for the following properties:  1100 North State Road 7 (motel); 5915 Park Drive (Motion Elevator); 5713 Park Drive (apartments); and 6012 N.W. 9th Court (Church once it is vacated).

Mr. Nardi foresees ten (10) landscape services at each property will be needed between now and year end at an estimated total cost of $5,200.

RECOMMENDATION:                     For Board approval

FISCAL IMPACT:                     $5,200 for 10 services at each property ($1,560 in FY 2025; $3,640 in FY 2026) against Professional Property Maintenance account #140.0510.531038
