Title

APPROVING THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MCRA AND ATLANTIC CENTER, LLC, TO PROVIDE FOR AN EXTENSION OF THE TERM OF THE ORIGINAL AGREEMENT UP TO AND INCLUDING DECEMBER 30, 2026

Body

BACKGROUND:                                           The MCRA Board approved a Grant Agreement with Atlantic Center, LLC, for funding not to exceed $600,000 via Resolution 752 on May 14, 2025.   This is a reimbursement grant for the costs associated with the exterior renovations to the shopping center located at 6828-6896 West Atlantic Boulevard, Margate, Florida.

As per the terms of executed Grant Agreement, the deadline to complete the project was 365 days from the date the MCRA Board approved the final design, which was done at the September 10, 2025 MCRA meeting.  This meant the Grantee should have completed the project by September 10, 2026.

Unfortunately, due to a manufacturing error with the impact doors, the Grantee was initially delayed five months, however, delivery and installation of the doors and window has now finished, and the project is nearing conclusion.   As a result, the Grantee has requested a three-month extension to fully complete the project and obtain the necessary certificate of completion for all elements of the Project, with a new deadline of Wednesday, December 30, 2026.

If the new extension is granted, the MCRA reimbursement will be processed according to the terms laid out in the executed Grant Agreement.
