AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CITY OF MARGATE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNUAL COMPENSATION RATE FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CITY ON BEHALF OF THE MCRA PURSUANT TO THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MCRA AND CITY OF MARGATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024

BACKGROUND:  The MCRA and the City of Margate entered into an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for Contribution, Services, and Compensation on December 7, 2022 (copy attached). The ILA outlines the relationship between the two entities and provides funding for City employees that perform work on behalf of the MCRA and other support services provided by the City on behalf of the MCRA.                      

 

The ILA has a five-year term commencing October 1, 2022 and provides for annual compensation rate increases. As stated in Article 4-Reimbursement and Compensation of the ILA, the City shall submit a proposal for compensation for services on an annual basis in time for the submission of the MCRA annual budget for the next fiscal year; a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) shall be executed by both parties confirming the agreed annual compensation rate. 

 

Attached is the MOU in the amount of $1,694,019 for compensation to the City for services described in the Agreement for fiscal year 2023-2024, as provided in the approved budgets of the City and the MCRA, and in compliance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 163, Part III, Section 163.387(6).                      

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     Board Approval

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                     $1,694,019 from the MCRA’s approved FY 2023-2024 budget line for City Offsets account #140-0510-512.30-57.
