Title

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA APPROVING THE 4th AMENDMENT TO THE COMMUNITY SHUTTLE SERVICE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND BROWARD COUNTY THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2025

Body

BACKGROUND:

As part of the City’s commitment to continued shuttle bus services, the City and Broward County entered into an Interlocal Agreement (ILA), dated October 11, 2019, to provide Community Shuttle Service as an alternative form of public transportation for City residents.  The original agreement was amended on December 1, 2020, October 19, 2023, and September 6, 2024.  This amendment will extend the term of the ILA through September 30, 2027.  Under the ILA with Broward County, and in partnership with Broward County Transit (BCT), the City currently operates four community shuttle bus service routes. Shuttle bus operations are performed by a local provider who contracts directly with the City. The most recent agreement to perform the services at $68.98 per hour pursuant to Bid No. 2023-007 was awarded to Limousines of South Florida (LSF) under Resolution 23-045.

The funding is from 111-4552-541.34-56 Roads Account Reimbursed 100% by Broward County.

RECOMMENDATION:                     City staff recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:                     None.
