Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, APPROVING PARKS BOND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - ORIOLE PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PHASE I - LED SPORTS LIGHTING AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $466,750; UTILIZING A PIGGYBACK OF CLAY COUNTY RFP NO. 18/19-2; PROVIDING FOR CONTINGINCY FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: This project was recommended by the public and supported by the City Commission as part of the Parks Improvement Bond Projects. This project is in the design phase, however the City has a need to expedite this portion of the project as the park is currently in use, and the lighting improvements are needed to ensure public safety. The procurement, design, permitting, and installation of this project will be turnkey from the lighting manufacturer. This project includes a ten (10) year parts and labor warranty.
Lighting Proposal: $416,750
Permitting/Contingency: $50,000
The City of Margate’s Parks and Recreation Department has researched all options for Lighting this area, and recommend that we install Musco Sports Lighting, LLC materials. Musco is a proven leader in the industry, and their product has a very high satisfaction standing with the majority of similar municipal complexes in Broward County.
At the completion of this project, our Margate residents and guests will experience an immediate increase in photometric light levels, allowing for safer recreational use while at our park. A guaranteed light level for ten (10) years. Lights will be instant on/off LED technology.
