Title
APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, CHAPTER 15, FIRE PROTECTION AND PREVENTION, PROVIDING FOR ARTICLES; PROVIDING FOR AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR DEVICES (AED); PROVIDING FOR FEES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: The attached ordinance provides for AEDs to be installed within certain buildings in the City, including but not limited to, fitness centers, restaurants with one hundred or more seats, and assisted living facilities.
Addition of article sections and reorganization of Chapter 15 was provided for clarity.
RECOMMENDATION: Recommend approval of the ordinance and discussion of the fees for permits and inspections, which will be provided for by resolution.
FISCAL IMPACT: To be determined based upon inspection costs and fees.
