Title
APPROVING THE CITY CENTER FINAL CONCEPT DESIGN BY BROOKFIELD AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATION FORMS FOR THE 100% SCHEMATIC DESIGNS FOR THE PRE-SITE PLAN SUBMISSION
BACKGROUND: In April 2023, the MCRA entered into an Agreement with Colliers International Florida, LLC, (Colliers) to provide real estate brokerage, marketing and advisory services for the 50± acres in the Margate City Center. In collaboration with the Board, Colliers issued an Offering Memorandum (OM) and the Board ultimately selected Brookfield Properties at the March 12, 2025 meeting. Over the next 12 months, a Development Agreement (DA) was negotiated which was presented and approved by the Board at the March 11, 2026 MCRA meeting.
Following the Project Schedule with Milestones as set forth in Schedule 1.2 of the DA, Brookfield Properties presented the Initial Concept Design for Phase One at the July 9, 2026 MCRA meeting.
At the July 9, 2026 MCRA meeting, Brookfield Properties presented the Initial Concept Design for Phase One as required by Schedule 1.2; Project Schedule with Milestones of the DA and received a lot of feedback from the Board. Following the same Project Schedule with Milestones, Brookfield Properties are now ready to present the Final Concept Design for Phase One.
Brookfield Properties are requesting approval of this “Basis of Design” from which they can prepare a full set of schematic designs to be used for Pre-Site Plan Submission.
