DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION - PROPERTY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM - STATUS AND REOPENING CONSIDERATIONS

BACKGROUND:                     On October 19, 2022, the City Commission allocated $1.5 million from general fund revenues, made available by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), for the Property Improvement Program. The City Commission approved this Program to provide comprehensive fixed capital and other improvements to commercial, multi-family, common areas and building exteriors of condominium associations, and single-family properties.

 

Once the City received $2,461,171 in grant applications, City staff closed the program for new applications. After review of the applications, $1,358,438.13 were approved as eligible for funding. Nine applicants have withdrawn from the Program and three were denied reimbursement.

 

Funding status:

         $    911, 211.87 has been expended

         $    348,693 reserved for projects in progress

 

Total:                       $1,259,904.87

 

Leaving:  $240,095.13 of the $1.5 M allocated by the City Commission.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     Discussion and possible action regarding the remaining funds.
