Title

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES (DEES) TO ESTABLISH AND FILL TWO (2) INTERNSHIP POSITIONS, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE

Body

BACKGROUND:                                           The Department of Environmental and Engineering Services (DEES) is committed to fostering workforce development, promoting career exposure, and supporting succession planning within the City of Margate’s water and wastewater utility services.

DEES seeks to establish two (2) internship positions to provide students who are matriculating toward a college degree and who have expressed and exhibited an interest in water utilities with meaningful hands-on experience in treatment plants operations, engineering, construction, utility administration, and related customer services.

The two Utility Operations and Maintenance (O&M) internships will provide hands-on exposure to municipal water and wastewater systems, including operations modernization, instrumentation and treatment process optimization through active participation in capital improvement and pilot projects.

These internship positions will support the development of future operations and maintenance professionals, enhance the City’s ability to attract skilled talent, and contribute to the long-term reliability and sustainability of Margate’s water and wastewater infrastructure.
