A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING $849,938.00 OF AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT (ARPA) FUNDS FOR THAT PORTION OF WATER AND WASTEWATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS WHICH ARE PART OF THE NW 8TH STREET ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
BACKGROUND: Construction drawings are being completed and bid documents drafted for the NW 8th Street Roadway (from NW 67th Avenue to NW 69th Avenue) Improvement Project. The improvements include the reconstruction of portions of the roadway, sidewalks, driveway approaches, swales, the replacement of a 2” galvanized watermain with a 6” PVC watermain, and improvements to the sanitary sewer laterals within the right-of-way. The engineer’s estimated cost for construction is $1.5M of which $1.1M is associated with water and wastewater system improvements. Staff is seeking approval of a resolution accepting the allocation of American Resue Plan Act funding in the amount of $849,938.00 to supplement any water and wastewater system improvement expenses associated with the project.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution allocating $849,938.00 of ARPA funds to water and wastewater improvements along NW 8th Street from NW 67th Avenue to NW 69th Avenue.
