CONSIDERATION OF AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE UPDATED SPECIAL EXCEPTION CRITERIA AND PUBLIC NOTICE REQUIREMENTS.

BACKGROUND: Revising special exception criteria and public notice sign/legal notification letters requirements.                     

 

This item passed on First Reading at the July 12, 2017, Regular City Commission meeting.  At this meeting, the City Commission increased the public hearing mailing radius to 1,500 feet, reduced the size of the large public hearing sign with graphic, and introduced a new size of public hearing sign for single family homes.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  This item was approved at the Development Review Committee (DRC) with revisions on May 9, 2017. A signed copy of the meeting minutes is attached. The proposed ordinance was approved by the Planning and Zoning Board on June 6, 2017 with a vote of 5-0. A draft copy of those meeting minutes is attached.
