Body

BACKGROUND:                                           As the next step in the MCRA’s Wayfinding Signage Program, four new “Gateway” signs will be installed at major entry points to the City of Margate, all of which are within MCRA boundaries:

(No. 1 - North Sign Location) on State Road 7, south of SR 834 (W. Sample Road)

(No. 2 - South Sign Location) on State Road 7, north of SW 8th Court

(No. 3 - East Sign Location) on State Road 814 (W. Atlantic Boulevard), east of Banks Road

(No. 4 -West Sign Location) on State Road 814 (W. Atlantic Blvd.), east of NW 80th Terrace

The north, south and east sign locations are on state roads within FDOT rights of way and require FDOT approval for sign installation.  This approval process begins by entering into a Community Aesthetic Feature (CAF) with FDOT for installation and maintenance.

The fourth location (west sign location) is under Broward County jurisdiction and is being approved through a separate process with the County.

RECOMMENDATION:                     Approve the Agreement and authorize the Executive Director to sign the Agreement on behalf of the MCRA.
