Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, APPROVING WAIVING OF BIDDING FOR SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL DYNAMICS INTERNATIONAL (EDI) DISC DIFFUSERS AND OTHER REPLACEMENT AERATION PARTS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES (DEES); PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: The City of Margate Department of Environmental and Engineering Services (“DEES”) Utilities Division operates and maintains the City’s wastewater treatment facilities and associated aeration systems.
Current wastewater treatment process at the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant utilizes Environmental Dynamics International (“EDI”) 9-inch ISM Disc Diffusers and associated aeration equipment as integral components of the biological treatment process.
The City has determined that replacement diffuser components and aeration parts must be fully compatible with the existing installed system in order to maintain operational reliability, process performance, and manufacturer warranty requirements.
Environmental Dynamics International has certified that it is the sole source manufacturer and supplier of the 9-inch ISM Disc Diffuser and replacement aeration parts in the United States, and that no other company is an authorized manufacturer or distributor for this product.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
