APPROVAL OF A TEMPORARY USE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA-SAWGRASS DISTRICT TO HOLD A SCOUTING SHOWCASE ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2021
BACKGROUND: The Boy Scouts of America-Sawgrass District has submitted an application and Temporary Use Agreement for the use of the MCRA owned property located at 5701 Margate Boulevard (NW corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7) to hold a Scouting Showcase.
The one-day event would be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 8:00AM to 6:00 PM, and would include multiple scouting units that would set up stations (10x10 tents) to showcase scouting for the community. The event will also include food trucks.
If approved, the applicant would provide the necessary insurance and obtain a Temporary Use Permit from the City of Margate.
RECOMMENDATION: For Board review and approval
FISCAL IMPACT: The Boy Scouts of America-Sawgrass District has requested the Board approve waiver of the one-day usage fee of $1,000.
