MOTION - ELECTION OF OFFICER - PER SECTION 30-25: CHAIRPERSON
BACKGROUND:
Board Member Kris Miller is currently serving as the Chairperson.
Per the City Code
Sec. 30-25. - Selection of officers and organization of civil service board.
(a)The civil service board shall elect, by majority vote, a chairperson, vice-chairperson, and secretary/chief examiner. Any vacancy in these offices occurring for any reason shall be filled in a similar manner.(b)The chairperson shall preside at board meetings and will represent the board at meetings with the city commission, the city manager, and city, county and state officials. If the chairperson is not available, the vice-chairperson will represent the board at these meetings. All expenses shall be reimbursed subject to availability of city funds. The secretary will keep the minutes of board meetings.
Per the Civil Service By-Laws
Article V - Officers. Section 1:
The Officers of the Committee shall be Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary. These officers shall be elected by the Board members for a term of one (1) year. Any officer may stand for additional terms. Any vacancy occurring for any reason shall be filled in a similar manner.
