Title
AMENDMENT OF THE NON-BARGAINED COMPENSATION/ CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND RECLASSIFICATION OF ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF POSITION
BACKGROUND:
Staff recommends reclassifying the position of Assistant Fire Chief from Grade 44 to Grade 47 due to impending salary compression issues arising from the implementation of a new Fire Department pay plan and creation of the non-bargained Assistant Fire Chief position.
The current non-bargained compensation and classification plan only lists pay grades containing active positions. Staff recommend publishing grade 47 of the compensation plan to accommodate the reclassification of the Assistant Fire Chief position. No changes are being made to the pay grade ranges previously approved by resolution of the City Commission for FY27.
RECOMMENDATION: City Staff recommend Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: For FY27, approval of this item will result in an estimated additional cost of $7,406 to reclassify three (3) Assistant Fire Chief positions from Grade 44 to Grade 47.
