AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF TASK ORDER NO. 3 WITH CHEN MOORE AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR ADDITIONAL CIVIL ENGINEERING, LANDSCAPING AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION SERVICES FOR THE MARGATE BOULEVARD CROSSWALK AND LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

BACKGROUND: On July 13, 2021 the Board approved Task Order No. 1 with Chen Moore and Associates, Inc. (CMA). Project tasks included but were not limited to providing professional civil engineering, planning and landscape architecture services for the design, permitting and construction administration services (including an initial 10 site visits) necessary for the completion of the project. These include improvements designed to address sidewalk and crosswalk issues and to meet current ADA standards, as well as to address inconsistent landscape designs and plantings.

On August 17, 2022 the Board authorized the approval of Task Order No. 2 to CMA for additional civil engineering, landscaping, and construction administration services (which included an additional 16 site visits). The additional services include design engineering services to replace all paver sidewalks, parallel parking, and adjustments to landscaping preferences along the right of way to Margate Blvd from SR7/US 441 to East River Drive and portions of NW 58th Avenue.

On May 14, 2025 the Board approved an agreement with FG Construction and construction commenced on August 14, 2025. As a result, staff have requested CMA provide additional inspection associated services during construction (which would include up to an additional 110 site visits), respond to requests for information, pay application review, change order review, conduct construction inspections and progress meetings.
