A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE, ON AN ANNUAL BASIS, THE MARGATE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AGENCY SAFETY PLAN (PTASP) WITH BROWARD COUNTY

BACKGROUND:                     On September 17, 2014, the City Commission approved Resolution 12-543 for an Interlocal Agreement between Broward County and the City of Margate for a Community Bus Program. In accordance with the Interlocal Agreement, the City shall comply with 49 C.F.R. Part 673 which requires public transportation operators, which receive federal funding directly or indirectly, to adopt and provide for a yearly approval of a Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) for their community bus program.  The PTASP formalizes existing safety programs and procedures that improve safety risk management and the City’s oversight processes. 

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     City Staff recommends approval
