A PRESENTATION RECOGNIZING DEES LIFT STATION DIVISION LEADER PETE DIAZ FOR BEING NAMED BY THE FLORIDA RURAL WATER ASSOCIATION AS THEIR DISTRIBUTION AND COLLECTION OPERATOR OF THE YEAR FOR 2026.

Body

BACKGROUND:                     Pete Diaz was recently named “2026 Distribution and Collection Operator of the Year” by the Florida Rural Water Association for his leadership and commitment to proactive maintenance of the City’s wastewater collection and transmission systems.

While this award recognizes Pete’s individual achievements, it also reflects the dedication of the outstanding Lift Station Division TEAM that he leads every day. Working alongside Utilities Maintenance Superintendent, Gavin Junk, Pete has helped build a highly motivated TEAM of Utility Mechanics and Service Workers committed to preventive maintenance, regulatory compliance, employee safety, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. Together, they have significantly improved the reliability of the City’s wastewater collection (gravity sewers) and transmission systems (lift stations and force mains) while protecting public health and the environment.

We extend congratulations to Pete on this well-deserved honor, and we thank him for his dedication and his continued service to the City of Margate.
