A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES FOR WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 39 - WATER AND SEWERS - DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE

BACKGROUND:                                          Pursuant to Chapter 39 - Water and Sewers - Department of Environmental and Engineering Services, the City Commission hereby establishes the Schedule of Fees and Charges for water and wastewater services, as attached hereto, and made a part of this resolution.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     Approval

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                     FY24, effective January 1, 2024, rates will increase by 25%

For single-family residential customers using a monthly volume of 6,000 gallons, this translates to a $16.49 increase, raising the charge from $67.36 to $83.85.

 

FY25, on October 1, 2024, an additional 9% increase

FY26, on October 1, 2025, an additional 9% increase

FY27, on October 1, 2026, an additional 4% increase

FY28, on October 1, 2027, an additional 4% increase

 

FY28, on October 1, 2028, an automatic adjustment linked to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will be applied annually.

 

The impact fees for new development will increase by 44%, from $3,710 to $5,345 for one equivalent residential connection (ERC).
