Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID 2024-011 - NORTHWEST FOCAL POINT SENIOR CENTER (NWFPSC) IMPACT DOORS TO LEGNA CONTRACTING, LLC; WAIVING REQUIREMENTS FOR PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS; PROVIDING FOR A NOT TO EXCEED TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $139,784.70 INCLUSIVE OF CONTINGENCIES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BACKGROUND:
The City advertised Bid No. 2024-011 for NWFPSC Impact Doors on April 12, 2024. Bids were received from four interested contractors. Staff has reviewed the bid submissions and clarified minor submission irregularities related to the addenda acknowledgment forms that were not included with the initial bid submission from the lowest bidder as well as a $.70 mathematical error related to the ten percent project contingency amount calculated by the same bidder. Staff recommends award to Legna Contracting, LLC as the lowest bidder.
Funding for this project shall be derived as a portion of the overall $250,000 State of Florida Department of Commerce Grant Agreement No. HL184 that was accepted by the City and approved by the State on December 14, 2023.
The project completion time is anticipated to be approximately thirty (30) days following the issuance of applicable permits related to the project.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve award to Legna Contracting, LLC
FISCAL IMPACT: $139,784.70 from GL Account No. 334-6552-539.65-84
