AWARD OF BID NO. 2014-009 FURNISH AND DELIVER SODIUM HYDROXIDE AT A COST OF $1.57/GALLON FOR TRUCKLOAD DELIVERY AND $1.89/GALLON FOR LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD DELIVERY. CITY OF MARGATE LEAD AGENCY FOR THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA GOVERNMENTAL PURCHASING COOPERATIVE GROUP.

BACKGROUND: The City of Margate, acting as lead agency for the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group, issued a bid furnishing and delivering Sodium Hydroxide based on unit pricing for truckload and less than truckload deliveries. A total of twelve (12) bid packages were sent out and four (4) companies responded (refer to attached bid list). Allied Universal Corporation was the low bidder for both pricing categories with truckload at $1.57/gallon and less than truckload at $1.89/gallon. Staff has reviewed the bids and recommends awarding the bid to Allied Universal Corporation.
RECOMMENDATION: Award of Bid No. 2014-009 to Allied Universal Corporation
FISCAL IMPACT: 456-9080-533.52.11 - Approximately $55,000/Annually
