BACKGROUND:                 
The current bicycles used by the Police Department Bike Patrol officers have been in service since 2005. The bikes have reached their end of life and need to be replaced. Working with Purchasing, bid pricing for the purchase of new bicycles and ancillary equipment was obtained. Additionally, uniforms and equipment for 3 new bike officers needs to be purchased, along with receiver locks and police decals for the bikes. The Police Chief is recommending these items be funded from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00.
 
RECOMMENDATION:
To approve funding from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
 
FISCAL IMPACT:
$25,000.00 provided for funding from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
