Title
Approving an agreement with the South Florida Regional Planning Council to work collaboratively on the revitalization of the State Road 7/U.S. 441 Corridor.
Body

BACKGROUND:            By way of the State Road 7 Partnership Agreement, the South Florida Regional Planning Council (SFRPC) garners support from the municipalities along the State Road 7 corridor to work collaboratively to facilitate the aesthetic and economic revitalization of the State Road 7/U.S. 441 Corridor.  Financial contributions are discretionary.

In prior years, the Margate CRA received a share of grant funds secured for State Road 7 improvements of a regional nature such as the construction of bus shelters.  More recently the State Road 7 Partnership has been less active.  The current designees on behalf of the Margate Community Redevelopment Agency are Commissioner Donahue and Ben Ziskal, Economic Development Director.

Margate has been a signatory of the agreement for the past five years and has provided financial support as follows:
2009: $5,000
2010: $2,500
2011: $0
2012: $2,500
2013: $0

Staff is recommending approval of the Partnership Agreement and direction on the $2,500.00 financial contribution request.

RECOMMENDATION:         Motion to approve the State Road 7 Partnership Agreement

FISCAL IMPACT:      TBD
