Title
AUTHORIZATION TO BID LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT.

BACKGROUND: In March of 2014 the CRA terminated a contract for landscape maintenance with the Lawn Wizard, and executed a new contract with The Landscape Company (TLC), the second lowest responsive bidder to the RFP. The contract is in the amount of $157,653.00 and includes the maintenance of landscaping on CRA-owned properties and within various rights of way (Atlantic Avenue, 441/SR 7, Margate Blvd.). The contract term is for one year with an option to renew for up to two 1-year periods.
Staff has reported that TLC has not been as responsive as desired regarding some specific maintenance requests, and has not kept the appearance of certain areas (especially Atlantic Blvd.) up to an acceptable standard. Rather than extending TLC's agreement for another year, staff would like to consider alternative companies through the issuance of another RFP.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize CRA staff to issue a new Request for Proposals for Maintenance of Landscape and Irrigation.

To be determined through RFP process.
