A RESOLUTION OF THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN SNS PAVERS, INC., AND THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR CONCRETE AND BRICK PAVER CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE ON MARGATE BOULEVARD AND NW 58TH AVENUE AREA.

BACKGROUND: In 2008, the CRA completed streetscape improvements to Margate Boulevard and NW 58th Avenue including brick paver sidewalks, curbs, gutters, benches, lighting and landscaping.
Due to minimal maintenance over the years and the daily wear and tear from pedestrian and vehicular traffic, the area is in need of restoration and repair. The CRA requested quotes from qualified vendors to provide maintenance services for pressure cleaning, sealing and repair work including stabilization and replacement of pavers that have either incurred settlement and/or breakage. As of February 5, 2015, the CRA received three (3) quotes to complete this work and recommends contracting with SNS Pavers, Inc., to provide these services. SNS Pavers provided the lowest bid for the services ($24,967.50 for cleaning and sealing, with paver brick replacement at $4.00/sq. ft.-total contract cost of $37,365.00).
While the scope of services is all inclusive, the agreement provides that the price quoted will remain the same for a 3 year period so that the maintenance services can be utilized in the future on an as-needed basis.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve entering into a service agreement with SNS Pavers, Inc., for Concrete and Brick Paver Cleaning and Maintenance in the Margate Boulevard and NW 58th Avenue Area.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding is allocated in 140.0510-512-31-38 - Property Maintenance.
