Request to Extend Use of CRA Owned Property

BACKGROUND: At the January 14th meeting, the Board approved the use of 1000 North State Road 7 (former Swap Shop property) by the Margate Chamber of Commerce to hold a fair from March 16 through April 1, 2015. This includes the additional days required for set-up and breakdown of the event.
Mr. Rick Riccardi, President of the Margate Chamber of Commerce is requesting an extension of the use of property through April 5th for the carnival portion of the event with 100% of the net profits going to the Margate/Coconut Creek Relay for Life Team, since this year's relay theme is "Carnival".
The additional hours of operation (for the carnival only) would be:
Wednesday-Thursday, April 1st and April 2nd, 3pm-11pm
Friday, April 3rd, 3pm-12am
Saturday-Sunday, April 4th and April 5th, 12pm-12am.
Breakdown of the event should be completed and all operations off the site by Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
Per the MCRA's Event Policy, an additional fee could be charged on a pro rata basis for the extra days. Given that the net proceeds will be used to support the Margate/Coconut Creek Relay for Life Team it is recommended that no additional fees be imposed.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the request by the Margate Chamber of Commerce to extend the use of the CRA owned property located at 1000 North State Road 7.
