APPROVING WORKER'S COMPENSATION WASHOUT SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WITH MARTIN ORLANDO IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,422.00 WITHOUT ADMISSION OF COMPENSABILITY.

BACKGROUND: Mr. Martin Orlando was a City of Margate employee for 33 years and retired from his position as Utility Mechanic in the Department of Environmental and Engineering Services in April 2008. He sustained an injury in March 2006. The above settlement is proposed in order to satisfy the known liability and reduce the potential for future liabilities. Confidential medical information is contained in relevant documentation, and there are no attachments besides the resolution. If not approved, the City of Margate may be responsible for salary, benefits and claim administration costs far exceeding the agreed upon amount.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
