Title
AUTHORIZING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF TWO (2) PART-TIME RECREATION PROGRAMMER POSITIONS TO ONE (1) FULL-TIME RECREATION PROGRAMMER POSITION WITHIN THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT.
Body

BACKGROUND:            In the FY 2015 budget, the Parks and Recreation Department has two (2) part-time Recreation Programmer positions, which are currently vacant. Staff has reviewed these positions and has found that there will be greater benefit to recreation programming if these two (2) part-time Recreation Programmer positions are reclassified into one (1) full-time Recreation Programmer. This position will help the City run quality in-house recreation programming, provide the department with a proper chain of command, and allow for additional coverage in the absence of current supervisory level personnel. This position shall be assigned to work under the supervision of existing Recreation Supervisors based on programming needs.

It is proposed that the full-time Recreation Programmer will be placed at Pay Grade 11 ($35,067 - $49,200).

RECOMMENDATION:      Recommend approval to amend the positions authorized in the FY 2015 Budget for the Parks and Recreation Department and approval of the related pay range for the new position.

FISCAL IMPACT:      No additional funds required for this fiscal year. Position change will be incorporated into the FY 2016 Proposed Budget.
