BACKGROUND: James Carl Fredrick American Legion Post 157 (charter organization that sponsors Boy Scouts of America Troop 836 in Margate) is requesting use of the CRA-owned property at 1000 City Center to hold a Neighborhood Scout Rally-Show Off Scouting event to promote and recruit Boy Scouts of America on Saturday, August 8, 2015. The event hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; activities will include a pinewood derby track, rain gutter regatta, round robin games, outdoor cooking demonstrations, and more.
Requestor understands that the event is subject to Development Review Committee approval.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: Boy Scouts of America is requesting that the CRA waive the one-day event fee of $1,000.
