BACKGROUND:
This upgraded system will be utilized for law enforcement purposes to continue to enhance the effectiveness of firearms and weapons training; and to facilitate reality based training without having to expose personnel to safety hazards. In addition, this simulator supplements live fire training by providing scenario based firearms proficiency without the expenditure of ammunition.

Our current Meggitt Training System is approximately six years old, and contains outdated software with antiquated scenarios. The proposed upgraded FATS 1.7 version offers more technological advancements to enhance training. The new system offers wireless control of the firearms and weapons devices, as opposed to tethered versions in our current system. Wireless weaponry will provide the student with more tactical cover, movement and concealment options. In addition to 400 pre-programmed scenarios, the FATS 1.7 version of the Meggitt System provides the user with the ability to create our own video scenarios filmed locally and an ability to upload them to the database. The FATS 1.7 version is compatible with our current weaponry, and we would not need to purchase any additional accessories.
