A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, APPROVING ADDENDUM TO THE STATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) COUNTY GRANT FUNDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE TOWN OF DAVIE ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF MARGATE AS A PARTICIPATING AGENCY IN ORDER TO RECEIVE MASS CASUALTY INCIDENT (MCI) EQUIPMENT/ACTIVE SHOOTER EQUIPMENT

Body

BACKGROUND:      Purpose of the addendum is to add the City of Margate as a participating agency to the Agreement between the County of Broward and the Town of Davie for purchase of MCI/Active Shooter Equipment. The equipment will enable emergency response crews of the participating agencies to rapidly begin the process of patient treatment during an MCI/Active Shooter event. Use of MCI/Active Shooter equipment will ensure that each agency uses the same equipment, thereby providing a continuum of patient care. The equipment will improve or expand pre-hospital emergency medical services by increasing the efficiency of emergency response staff in the treatment of an MCI/Active Shooter event.

The City of Margate is expected to receive $7,736.26 of MCI/Active Shooter equipment as a participating agency to this Agreement.
