BACKGROUND: In February 2015 the CRA issued a request for quotes related to concrete and brick paver cleaning and maintenance of Margate Boulevard and NW 58th Avenue area. The request provided estimated quantities including yards and linear footage for work to be completed and a per-unit cost for sidewalk stabilization and repair work. The request stated that the quantities provided would be verified and that payment would be made for actual work completed.

At the March 11th meeting, the CRA Board approved an agreement with SNS Pavers (lowest bidder) to provide services for pressure cleaning, sealing and repair work including stabilization and replacement of pavers on Margate Boulevard and NW 58th Avenue in the amount of $37,365.00.

SNS Pavers mobilized and began work the week of April 27th. During the process and prior to completion, SNS Paver Project Manager and CRA staff identified areas of work that were going to exceed the estimated unit of measures provided in the quote. In particular, the curbing around the median in Margate Boulevard had not been included in the original request for quotes. There were also additional areas where paver repairs had to be made. Due to a miscommunication between the SNS Project Manager and SNS office staff, a change order request for the additional services was not provided to the CRA prior to completion of the job, and the additional work was done.
