APPROVING A TEMPORARY USE AGREEMENT FROM AUTOBUY OF MARGATE TO SPONSOR THE SOUTH FLORIDA ITALIAN FESTIVAL ON CRA OWNED PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 5701 MARGATE BOULEVARD AND 1000 N. STATE ROAD 7.
BACKGROUND: AutoBuy of Margate is requesting the use of CRA property located at 1000 N. State Road 7 and 5701 Margate Boulevard to hold the South Florida Italian Festival on Sunday,
January 30, 2015. The event is an Italian family style festival with food trucks, vendors, live music and entertainment. There will be face painting, clowns and cotton candy for children. The festival will be promoted on iHeart radio stations.
The event will raise funds for the Construction Angels Charity, a South Florida based organization that facilitates access to financial services and grief counseling for the surviving family members of construction workers who have lost their lives on a jobsite.
The usage fee for property located at 1000 N. State Road 7 (former Swap Shop location) for three (3) days is $1287. The usage fee for property located at 5701 Margate Boulevard for one (1) day is $286. The total fee for the use of CRA properties for the event is $1,573. Rates are prorated per the CRA Event Policy. The term for the temporary use agreement is January 29th -31st, 2015.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of a Temporary Use Agreement from Autobuy of Margate to sponsor the South Florida Italian Festival.
FISCAL IMPACT: The fee for the use of CRA properties located at 1000 N. State Road 7 and 5701 Margate Boulevard is $1,573. This includes the cost for set-up and breakdown time on the properties.
