BACKGROUND:                                          This resolution awards Bid No. 2015-011 C-14 Water Main Canal Crossing Construction to the lowest bidder R.P. Utility & Excavation Corp in an amount not to exceed $391,644.00.  The project will replace approximately 450 linear feet of existing water main in NW 1st Street along the frontage of Veterans Memorial Park and construct approximately 1,900 linear feet of new water main from Veterans Memorial Park to Southgate Boulevard near SW 69th Terrace.  The new water main will increase system redundancy, improve pressure, and increase available fire flow to the service area south of the C-14 canal.  A total of eight complete bid packages were received and the three apparent low bid packages were reviewed (please refer to the attached bid evaluation letter from the project consultant Chen Moore & Associates).
