APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN PALM BEACH COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MARGATE, FOR FIVE YEARS, PROVIDING FOR CONTINUED RADIO COMMUNICATION FOR FIRE AND EMS OPERATIONS.

BACKGROUND: Palm Beach County Fire Rescue is our closest neighbor on the north end of our jurisdiction. If either department needs assistance, this agreement will allow for us to share frequencies on our radios to facilitate communications. This agreement will replace a previous agreement with Palm Beach County that would have expired on October 31, 2015. It provides for an initial five (5) year term with the opportunity for three (3) additional terms of five (5) years each.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve.
