BACKGROUND:                                           A 2007 Ford Explorer within the Public Works Department is in need of replacement. This vehicle has approximately 72,000 miles and recently has had some mechanical issues that have resulted in costly repairs. These issues have included but are not limited to problems with the fuel system, transmission/line connector, engine vibration damper, radiator/lines, and other leaks/noises. The Public Works Department is requesting to replace this vehicle with a 2015 Ford Explorer for an amount not to exceed $31,000. This vehicle will be purchased utilizing Florida Sheriffs Association pricing. The 2007 Ford Explorer will be used as pool car in the Public Works Department.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     Approve                     

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                     Funding in the amount of $31,000 in Public Works Garage Gas, Oil & Coolant (001-4551-590.52-02) has been transferred to Public Works Administration Acquisition of Vehicles (001-4545-539.64-02) for this purchase.
