Body

BACKGROUND:                                          Since consolidating to the Broward County Regional 911 system in November 2013, City staff has evaluated the possibility of transitioning from the City’s twenty year old records management system (RMS) into Broward County’s RMS.  This new system would provide for a more robust online system rather than the frequent manual entries and handwritten forms used in the existing system. The new RMS system would also provide the Police Department to access data from other law enforcement agencies that utilize the same system.

RECOMMENDATION:                     For approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Total software cost, including interest, to be paid over a five(5) year period                     $338,334.19

First payment not due until October 15, 2015 (fiscal year 2015/2016).

Approximate annual maintenance cost starting in year two and                                                                         $  27,353.44

not included in the financing by Government Capital (to be invoiced annually)
