Title

A RESOLUTION OF THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN KIMLEY-HORN & ASSOCIATES, INC. AND THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The CRA Board approved an agreement with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. on November 19, 2012 to provide Civil Engineering Services to the MCRA. The initial agreement is for three (3) years with option to renew for two (2) additional years.   The agreement is up for renewal this November.

Although Kimley-Horn has provided adequate services under the current agreement, staff plans to issue a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) to potentially contract with more than one engineering firm to assist with forthcoming projects outlined in the MCRA budget and capital plan.

A draft RFQ has been prepared but it will take time to issue and negotiate agreement(s) for approval by the Board.  In the interim, Kimley-Horn has agreed to a short term extension of their current contract for one hundred eighty (180) days or until such time as engineering services are secured under new contract(s).

RECOMMENDATION:                     Approve an amendment to the agreement between the MCRA and Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc., extending the term for one hundred eighty (180) days or until such time as a new agreement(s) is executed for Civil Engineering Services.
