BACKGROUND:

The administration prepared a design criteria package and advertised for RFQ 2015-016 Design/Build 24-Inch Force Main and 30-Inch Water Main Canal Crossing.  A total of fifteen (15) firms requested and received the solicitation.  One response from the design/build team of Southern Underground Industries, Inc. and Chen-Moore and Associates, Inc. was received.  A Selection and Evaluation Committee reviewed the submittal and determined it to be responsive, and the submitting team well qualified to perform the work.  Based on the above, the administration requests authorization to negotiate with the aforementioned design/build team.  Upon conclusion of the negotiations, the administration will present the negotiated agreement to the City Commission for further action, up to and including award of the agreement.

RECOMMENDATION:  Authorization to Negotiate.

FISCAL IMPACT:                       Fiscal Year 2016 budget for the project is $750,000.00. Actual project cost will be determined as part of the negotiations with the design/build team.
