Title
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) 2015-016 DESIGN/BUILD 24-INCH FORCE MAIN AND 30-INCH WATER MAIN CANAL CROSSING TO SOUTHERN UNDERGROUND INDUSTRIES, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $896,562.00, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR APPROVAL OF NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT.
BACKGROUND:
On October 28, 2015 the City Commission, as per Resolution No. 15-117, authorized negotiations with the design/build team of Southern Underground Industries, Inc. and Chen-Moore and Associates, Inc. after receipt and evaluation of their submittal for RFQ 2015-016 - Design/Build 24-Inch Force Main and 30-Inch Water Main Canal Crossing.
Following negotiations, Southern Underground Industries, Inc., acting as contractor and lead for the design/build team, submitted a total cost proposal for the project of $896,562.00. The total cost proposal includes incorporating construction elements negotiated by the Selection and Evaluation Committee, all design/build services, fees, and contingencies as outlined in the attached schedule of values submitted by Southern Underground Industries, Inc.
RECOMMENDATION: Award to Southern Underground Industries, Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT: Not to Exceed $896,562.00
